Meet Our Summer Interns!

On May 20, 2019, Conrad Siegel welcomed four summer interns to our team. Hayden, Ashley, Craig, and Madison have shown great initiative and a sincere interest in learning. In addition to all of the work they completed, the interns were able to learn about each of the firm’s lines of business, attend the Health and Welfare Forum, participate in staff meetings, enjoy an escape room team building event, and participate in an exam information session. On August 9, 2019 , we will be saying farewell to our interns as they prepare to return to school in the fall. Read below to learn about each intern’s time at Conrad Siegel and their plans for the upcoming school year.

Hayden Cooper – Actuarial Intern

Hayden is a rising junior at Robert Morris University pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science.  In his free time, you can find Hayden playing the guitar, a hobby he has been enjoying since the age of 7.  He will not miss the long commute to Conrad Siegel from his home in Hanover, but he will miss our company culture and the time everyone took to help him during his summer here.

“I have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas Edison

If you could have dinner with one person dead or alive, who would it be and why?

I would probably say I’d have family dinner with my late grandmother. I think everyone would enjoy having her around the dinner table again.

Who is currently your favorite music artist?

I don’t think that I have a favorite artist, but recently I have been listening to Tyler, The Creator, Childish Gambino, and Travis Scott, to name a couple.

What was your favorite memory of your internship so far?

I really enjoyed the escape room that the interns and our mentors did together. I have also just generally enjoyed the various conversations I have had with others while here.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My dad is a huge inspiration of mine. His determination and perseverance are traits I strive to emulate in my own experiences.

Ashley Groff – Graphic Design Intern

Ashley is a rising junior at Towson University studying Digital Art and Design. Ashley keeps busy balancing her school work with her involvement in the Ultimate Frisbee club and her part time job at Edible Arrangements. Outside of work, you can expect to find Ashley searching for solitude from her 6 younger siblings to enjoy her favorite hobby of – you guessed it- drawing!

I think maybe it was when I found out I got the internship – I was so excited because this was exactly what I was looking for, and I didn’t think I would get it!

Who is your biggest inspiration?

It’s cheesy, but I have to say my mom. She was a young mom but she always worked hard for her kids, and she’s very independent.
