Mark is Conrad Siegel’s President and Chairman of the firm’s management committee. He specializes in retirement plan consulting for traditional defined benefit plans, executive retirement plans, and other postemployment benefits (OPEB). Mark works with private sector employers, tax-exempt organizations, school districts, and has specialized consulting expertise with respect to financial accounting of actuarial liabilities. Mark regularly works on some of the more unique and challenging consulting assignments which often include complex subject matter such as analysis of life insurance funding, litigation support, and consultation regarding UAW-style VEBAs.
Mark’s expertise comes from over 20 years working in the retirement plan sector. His interest in the actuarial field began in college where he wrote an honor thesis on the subject of postretirement medical valuation and published a paper on regression techniques used in pricing insurance. If Mark wasn’t a consultant, he’d probably be following his father’s footsteps as a teacher. His passion is to help others be successful. This aligns well with the longstanding traditions of gaining success by making your clients successful.
Mark has served in a variety of leadership roles within the firm and has obtained broader business skills through a variety of leadership positions within the community, having worked with nonprofits in health care, education, and the arts.
